i can kind of understand where they might be coming from

but the more upset people get by it, the more they publicise it, the more people will thing that they're being incredibly funny and intentionally offensive by using it

when in fact they're just being a bit of a nob.

personally i grew out of deliberately using Xmas as a way of showing my dislike of the Christian religion once i hit about 25.

now i'll happily use both spellings with no preference for either and if someone was to get upset at my use of Xmas i'd tell them to stop being so silly
