You can get a DVD rip and encoding of just the filum at about 750-800Mb

or a copy of an entire retail DVD, so you get all the menus and extras and all that s**t at 4.4Gb.

If you can download at 240kbps, like me (which is bog-standard 2 meg broadband) that means, foo, I don't know a couple of hours for the smaller, and like 8-10 hours for the larger. Guess - I haven't calculated that with a pencil or anything.

In practice it's very very rare to be able to sustain maximum download speeds, so you're looking at a couple of days to download a filum, maybe.
