Directions?

I ususally travel up to games from Ely, but this weekend I will be driving up from Kent. Autoroute suggests using the A12/A140 but the AA's website says to use the M11/A11.
Are there any southern based fans who could advise on the best route? (oh & I don't really want to go via Bristol!).
