you do need some luck.
I grew up on a council estate with 2 brothers, parents stayed together but no idea why - certainly didn't improve the atmosphere - and we were absolutely skint. No buying the council houses when Maggie put them up for sale, etc. I even had to have my burgundy shoes (yes they were once fashionable!) painted black when I went to comprehensive school to fit with the uniform!
Hard work, and a lot of risk taking, and I spent 10 years just being in the right place at the right time. This year has been awful luck apart from my wedding & honeymoon, but 1 in 11 is OK innit ? I'm absolutely from working class background. My wife (middle class upbringing and now a doctor) keeps laughing when I tell her I am working class. But if class exists, I am. And when PK grows up he'll realise the whole class bollocks is what you make of it yourself.
PK, to use an old, corny phrase, doesn't know he's bloody born.
