FWIW I think he will make a good manager some day. He just needs to learn the job at a lower level, with less pressure. I was optimistic mid summer with the transfers, but when we replaced Earnie with Curo and got Russell for Etuhu I started to worry. That was (IMO) more the boards fault than his. His man management was suicidal though and is what cost him.
Re infrastructure, I'm sure it did need doing and I'm sure they had a great business case for doing all they did. I'm also sure they did it all with the best of intentions. However, football whilst being a business is a business like no other, what other company has shareholders crying out for over investment? Its a really tough balancing act. I think our board got it wrong, thats all.
