You see, the EAST is simply outside the north/south divide. In terms of mere latitude, Norfolk is well up with the grimy coal-eaters. But it is another country. It has no whippets, no flat caps, no pigeon racing, no lugubrious cricketers and no coal-miners. The East is sui generis.
