Fuck all this crap about how Fleming could hack it at this level, we need a new young centre back and the board should give Worthy the cash to buy one. I hope that Worthy realises and has the cash to buy a decent centre back cos i tell you what if Fleming and Shackell are running out on the opening day against Coventry as our first choice central defensive pairing then i for one will not be happy or confident (as i am sure thousands of others will not be). The Doc and Shacks would be marginally better but i would like to see a new guy in alongside Shacks.

Those who say we do'nt need another centre back have got it wrong imo. Lets say we do start with the Doc and Shacks. Now lets say that the Doc falls awkwardly whilst jumping to head the ball and damages his ligaments seriously. As a result of that injury he is ruled out for 6 months (quite feasible). This then leaves us with the prospect of the proven disasterous and incompetent central defensive pairing of Shackell and Fleming. Or Shackell and the short arse Charlton where with all those long balls being pinged in to our area we will surely come a cropper on more than one occasion. Colin can play at CB but he is an unknown quantity in that position so bring on Sam Sodje.
