Local impact bullets were used to shoot the suspected suicide bomber......

that may explain why 5 shots were fired.

Think about it though it would only take a second for a suicide bomber to detonate his explosives and if you had a gun ... well i would'nt just put one bullet to his head, think of the adrenaline rushing through the policemans veins. You would want to be sure.
