but that policeman had a split second to make a decision. In the current climate he had to make that decision immediately.
Was it wrong? Yes.
Could it have been right? Just as easily.
I know exactly where you're coming from and I'm not trying to create an argument with you. I just really don't think it's as clear cut as you make it.
I'm sure that policeman never went to work that morning expecting to pull the trigger of his gun. He will have to live with that decision for the rest of his life. I for one hope his conscience is clear as I believe he honestly made what he thought was the right decision. It's a decision I'm glad I'll never have to make, but I'm glad we have men and women in this country who are prepared to make those choices.
