Whereas in fact it was - excruciating pain once the anaesthesia wore off, followed by a weekend in a dark room, (apart from watching the manyoo game on the telly in an alcohol and painkiller induced stupor) and a week of alternating between nurofen plus and paracetamol every three hours. Including through the night.
