I see them as an irritant, aggrovation, and in some cases a dangerous weapon

chavs and scum can get their hands on and potentially do damage with

Mentally, they can also be a trigger to anyone who wants to forget about something that may have happened

As ingi says, they also disturb wildlife

In celebration of Guy Fawkes, I'd let people who use fireworks get the same punishment he did for an hour. Then they can think about why he got that punishment, and why it isn't something to celebrate
