IPSWICH Town fans today heard from their Norwich City counterparts after the news of the £44million Marcus Evans' takeover spread down the A140.

While Blues fans welcomed the news of the investment, Carrow Road message boards filled with less complimentary posts.

At www.pinkun.com, a Norwich City newspaper website, a messenger called Yellow Rider said: “All this will do is further fuel the inflation of the cesspit of money in the game.

“Come January or next summer any player Ipswich try to buy will demand soaring wages as they know the money is there to pay it.”

Kdncfc said: “We are now officially the peasants of East Anglia all because our beloved board, despite all their claims of wanting to sell, are to lazy too get out there and find investment.”

Ncfc1 said money would not necessarily spell success. Their post read: “Look at the millions Sheffield Utd have spent this summer and they are not exactly flying are they?”
