John Inverdale is the mutual friend of Kevin Piper and Derek Jameson

If you've read Touched by Angels you'll know how close Jameson and Inverdale are (camping trips, ice hockey etc). Piper will be pulling the strings in the local business community. Jameson will bring in the big city finances and is happy to place himself as the much needed celebrity figurehead. If all goes according to plan everything will be in place for the January transfer window.
