According to Jurgen Colin?s agent, Ipswich Town tried to sign the Dutch defender from under the noses of Norwich City.

Colin joined Norwich yesterday from Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven and Champions League Semi finalists for fee of around ?250,000.

The player?s agent Hakim Slimani has said: ?Ipswich called me two days ago and they were very interested in Jurgen, they were looking for a new right-back to give Fabian Wilnis competition. Southampton, too, were interested in Jurgen and they contacted PSV about him, But we decided to go to Norwich.

?Why did we decide to come here? Because the gaffer (Nigel Worthington) gave Jurgen a very good feeling, a feeling of confidence, when he spoke to him.
