...Grant said a few times that there were players out there that he thought 'aren't worth the cash that's being asked', and Doncaster and co. have said all along that there is cash available - for loan deals in particular.

He probably thought he was doing the right thing in not being stitched up with silly prices, but ultimately the lack of signings led to us struggling - I bet if he had the chance to do this season all again we'd have seen the likes of Shawcross sign for us instead of Stoke.

Without having spent any money to date, it must still be there - and there's no way this board won't sanction a new manager getting in at least one player that he says he needs to save this side, surely?!
