Of course they are

The problem is if you overspend when in the Prem and get relegated, then unless you bounce straight back up, you simply can't recover. The banks called in their debts as soon as it was clear we weren't going back up in 95/6 (ie. after O'Neill quit), and we ran out of cash in Jan '06 (again, when it was clear we weren't going back up). Ipswich, like Leicester, exploited a loophole to go into administration at no cost to them - but Leicester needed a takeover to sort their problems out, so do Ipswich, and so (even though our debt is secure) do we.

And bearing in mind how bad their finances are, what does it say that we're bottom, and they're 4th? When we were both looking anxiously over our shoulders last season, a Binner wrote on his club's messageboards that "at least we have an excuse. Norwich have parachute money - so why are they doing so badly?" Sorry, but you won't find me getting excited because "our finances are better than theirs" - so what? As with most of our respective clubs histories, they're doing better than us - and this despite the fact that we are the bigger club.
