Short period of success at Newcastle was nothing more than a dead cat bounce after the Souness disaster.
Praying that I'm wrong about this - but seems an appointment lacking in imagination. The appointment has also followed a rigid and regimented recruitment process not at all suited to football.
In football, surely a board has to identify talent and pursue it, not go through some tortuous 3-week process sifting through 50+ applications. How many other clubs seemingly place so much weight on the strength of interview performance?
