Parachute payments

I saw a comment recently (not on here) that the parachute paymemt system was due to end. Obviously this doesn't affect us at the moment as ours is guaranteed foir the next coupe, of years but it might if we were to go up and come down again. I haven't heard of this before so does anyone know when parachute payments end (or indeed if its true that they are ending)
