Don't get me wrong - the NHS is a great place if you want to be cared for, but the organisation?! Christ. Piss up in a brewery springs to mind.

Finally got to the urologist after 4 months yesterday, 3 months 3 weeks late, after about 6-7 cycles of: catheter - infection - new catheter. All the while having to have antibiotics that could potentially damage the kidneys.

First thing they said to him was - "really? It's been in THAT long? That should have come out months ago...". My mum did everything in her power to stop my dad forcing the consultant to sit down Gazza-dentists chair stylee and force feed him the contents of his 'special bag'.

Massive mental lift though having it out - not very much dignity with one of those things. Early days though - get through a week without it and we're cooking on gas.
