Of course the players aren't squeaky clean when it comes to placing the blame.

But the board choose the manager, the manager has to buy/sell/motivate the players. In recent times, our manager has been unable to do that, for one reason or another.

Either the personnel the manager has brought in has been wrong, or the manager has been unable to motivate and lead the players. Either way, the board has to be culpable for this.
