The PA to our MD asked me for some PC help at work only last week.

'Look Tim', she says in a frustrated tone, 'why can't I get a picture on screen? I've checked and the monitor is turned on, why can't I see my login details.'

'Have you checked to see if the computer itself is turned on', I retort.

'Isn't it?' she replies, as I push the switch to power it up.
