Sorry guys, ive been watching your comments on Hughes today but nuffs enough....
The guy is being signed purely for his versatility, its a similar signing to the attempt we made for Scimeca last season. Hughes wont be a starting player he will be cover for injuries & suspensions.... yes this mean he will probably get 40 + games in a vareity of positions, but at least this frees up worthy budget in more useful positions.
This way, one transfer fee and a sensible wage is spent, covering 3-4 positions, leaving a couple of more fees and wages to bolster the team in more effective areas.
Id much rather see 1 utility player, than see us waste money on a right back, a central midfielder, and a centre back, all of whom will sit on the bench in reserve and sapping the wage budget.
This makes a lot of sense to me what he's done, and hopefully the next few signings will show this to be a clever signing.
