How is it stupid?

One of the Chief apologists for the board has praised the way that we have spent money on new stands - ensuring, for example, that some 40% of the season ticket money is not available to spend on players. Portsmouth, on the other hand, have spent money on the team whilst continuing to play in a s**t-hole - safe in the knowledge, of course, that there is so much money in the Premier League that they will be able to afford a sparkly new ground too.
So amidst all the criticism of Grant and his appointment I was curious to see if people supported our board's decision that a nice ground is better than a good team.
