Safri wanted to leave

I don’t think Safri was forced out at all. We’d heard stories in the press about his African Nations issues a number of times. On the pitch, he only seemed bothered when he felt like it. As the best midfielder in the club, he must have thought he was almost undroppable, a bit like Francis in the Prem season.

I heard from someone I trust (yes I know, the “reliable source”) on the day of the 0-3 disaster at QPR (October 2005) that on several occasions his antics had not endeared himself to the management of NCFC.

So when Grant comes in, he sees a player who does not want to be at the club, what is he supposed to do ? Indulge a player, who is only going to be available for a part of the season? I don’ t think so.
