The eternal problem with saf though..

... is that you only get about 50% of the season when he's fit/not sulking/not fasting. He's never been reliable enough to allow the team to get used to a settled CM pair.

Not that I'm suggesting that we currently have a settled CM pair, obviously, but injuries to smith/fozzy have contributed to that.
