Question which I would ask them.......

If you're a startup, how will you be offering me a structured training programme so I can develop both myself and your company?

I'd also try to understand the financing of the company and how they will look after pension arrangements (This is important even now. Earlier starts in saving have massive effects on the end result).

I'd ask before you start whether they want code or a pseudocoded algorithm. You might not know the C++ code but you could well be able to deduce the problem. That's the hard part. It's a C++ trainee's job so that's what they are there to teach you!
