Thoughts on yesterday

1. Hull as a place - city centre was pleasantly nicer than expected having taken the trouble to get away from the station and venture into the old town. The remainder of the city however appears to be a complete and utter sh*thole populated by retarded neaderthals.

2. Hull are the sh*ttest team i've seen us lose to for ages. They will be fighting relegation no doubt.

3. Until they got that second goal out of nothing I never felt we were going to lose that game and i'm still not sure how we did. After Dion's goal I was sure we would go on and get a second but instead contrived to lose it with 30 seconds of terrible defending. Apart from that we did not create many chnaces but, like Preston, were looking pretty comfortable.

4. A few comments on players:

Marshall - better on crosses today. opponants have clearly identified that as a weakness as he gets fouled every time and is obviously being targetted. I think he made one great save after a few seconds of pinball stuff in our area midway through the first half but other than that did not have a save to make.

Murray - tidy and quite composed but for me lacks physical presence. Cannot see him as the answer at centre back.

Doc - did not notice him do anything wrong but he and shack were done too easily by Windass for that second goal.

Semi - our main attacking threat. if he could shoot he'd be lethal! Not keen on heading the ball!

Brellier - i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he is unfit. If not and this is an accurate reflection of his game then he is not the player we had been led to believe by Hearts fans.

Russell - thought he was excellent. Our MOM by miles. If only we had one other fit Cm to play alongside him!

Brown - did not get into the game at all. He did not deserve the stick some gave him last season and is a much better player than people give him credit for but I am coming to the conclusion that if we are serious about competing this season we should be looking for better up front alongside Curo. Dion looked far more of a threat when he came on. Time for Dave to be thrown in from the start against Rochdale in my view.

Croft - homer by the looks of it. Two away games and very little effect. At the Carra he looks a different player.
