Okay, that was an unfortunate and poor use of language.

I'm not suggesting the other murders were pointless at all, but the tabloids won't cover a story in as much detail when their basic outlook is the victim was black and the killer was racist.

In a week when the press is jumping on the back of youth and crime, this story is gold-dust to them. The murder of the boy was pointless and the press aren't able to attach the racism tag to it, so there are endless opportunities to add fuel to the Youth of Today fire.
