Yeah, I said that to my mate at the time, that southend have the opportunity to win now

I thought the referee couldn't handle the game, and experienced players for Southend began controlling his decisions cos they could smell his weaknesses

I don't think he truely knew what he was doing

He also failed to put a stop to Kandol and the 3 defenders running barney throughout the game. He did book Kandol but he failed to see that the 3 lads were doing their best to get him sent off

You won't have seen it clearly, cos you'll have been at the other end, but Flahaven went down after a clash with his own defender, and the players and Flahaven were saying it was Kandol that did it to try and get him second yellow

I dunno if you stayed on full time but it kicked off a little with kandol at the end and he had to be pulled away

Hughes's left foot is shocking, although as I already knew, he was useful as a full back, even for us

But yeah 4-1 doesn't really tell the story
