Marshall - 6.5 - Made a couple of good saves but the shot that, if not over, was bloody close, nearly really screwed us up, at least he reacted quickly to it.
Drury - 7- Very solid, made some very important challenges but linking with Lappin just didnt work all game.
Shackell - 7 - Solid enough, passing not great but no-one really did THAT much against him.
Docherty - I'd rather we signed up a f**king skip to play in his position, it's movement and pace would be better. Sorry but just goddamn AWFUL. Lost the ball that lead to the goal, and as they bore down on goal stuck out a leg and completely missed the guy bombing past him. Numerous hoofs and passes that make you wonder if he actually realises we're the players in YELLOW - Sorry but he's holding us back big time now. Better players would have punished us WAY more against him.
Lappin - 6.5 - Solid enough and some great set pieces, especially the cross leading to Doc hittting the bar. When Hucks is fit I wonder just how well those to would link up with him playing LB. Finally we seem to have some good linking up between RB and RM so if we can get that same balance on the left it'd really help us a lot.
Brellier - 5.5 - To me he didnt really look on the ball at all today, seemed quite sloppy in position, didn't react quick enough to being closed down and as a result lost the ball too much.
Russell - 6.5 - Also sloppy in possession first half but improved second half. Not his best performance today but did what was needed just about.
Croft - 8 - Probably the best I've seen him play today. Had his weetabix this morning cos I've NEVER seen him hassle, chase back, tackle and still push forward like he did today, summed up by his awesome run at the end where, despite being surrounded by 3 players all bigger than them he stayed on his feet and pushed forward. Top performance.
Brown - 7 - Worked his ass off as always but at times was slow in possession. Needs to sharpen up with the ball at his feet as he lost the ball a couple of times on the edge of the area when maybe a sharper striker coulda got it out of his feet and laid the ball off or had a pop.
Cureton 7.5 - Odd one this. Was pretty much non-existent the entire game except for his goals, but DAMN were they worth waiting for. First one was awesome placement and second he showed some real composure in a crowded box to take a touch before placing it home. 4 in 2 games, let's hope this keeps up!
Subs:
Fotheringham - 8 - And although only on about 20-25mins because of injury he's my MOM. I've been quite critical of him in the past but today he really turned the game round for us. Came on, got stuck in, and did what we'd not done all game, just kept it simple, tried to pass positively and the rest of the team just seemed to follow his example and things started to gel. Shame he got injured but at least now we've finally seen what he can do when he's really focused.
Chadwick - 6.5 - Didn't really have time to do too much, but took the ball in the corners to waste time, didn't lose possession, just about all you can ask for with 10mins left and 2-1 up.
Strihavka - 6.5 - Like Chadwick, not really possible to do much in a few minutes but he chased around well when the ball was near him. Still think he's gonna need a goal soon because although he's not playing much I can see it bothering him more than maybe Brown.
