At the end of last season Doncaster made a big noise about how we were financially sound, how we didn't have to see, and how any fees received from sales would go straight into Worthy's budget.
Worthy then said he wanted 5 new players to replace the five leavers at that stage (Eddy, Crow, Mullers, Stuart and Bentley), PLUS one-for-one signings to match any further departures (now Svenny, Helveg, Holt and Jonson).
So that's NINE new players Worthy needs. That's not a fan's unrealistic assessment, that's according to his OWN press statement on 6 June.
He's got three so far (one of whom has now picked up a hamstring injury). So he needs another SIX.
But now we're being told that his ONLY budget is what he can raise in transfer fees. And for what we've received in transfer fees, you'd struggle to get two quality players, let alone six.
I am starting to get very twitchy.
