(this is all hypothetical obviously and tbh my knowledge of fifties music and politics would barely cover a postage stamp even if it was written in 10 foot high letters)

is that people would hear the NonElvis and start to get into the music, but because the NonElvis couldn't wiggle his hips ans hold an audience as well as TheElvis, people might look a little further than NonElvis to get their hit of Teen Spirit
