Last Nights Game

Not sure if its been written yet but for the first 2/3 mins Barnet were all over us. Although throughout the game Marshalls kicking was worrying, he made an excellent save after a couple of minutes low down to his right. If that had gone in reckon it would've been completely different game. From the resulting corner croft I think got it, played it to fozzy who in turn fed a galloping Jon O who crossed for JC to get off the mark.

My point is that the move started from Marshalls save. Work on his kicking and I think he will be a brilliant addition. Not sure how confident he is with his two CB though, a cross from Barnets left in first half across the six yard box was headed over by a Barnet player, who I'm thinking if that chance fell to say Rasiak we would have conceded earlier.

I was impressed with our first 30 minutes performance, I don't think we were the same team after the 7 min delay for the linesman.

My ratings;

Marshall - 6/7 needs to work on kicking and command area
Jon O - 7 Quiet in 2nd half, strong, good tackles, good passing, got forward and back well in 1st half
Drury - 7 Same old with drury, good solid performance. Could do with watching JO though, needs to get forward more creating overlaps.
Doc 6 - Not as bad as everyone says, but he and Shacks still wweak link of team. Good to see him putting his head in wear it hurts even in 93 min.
Shacks 5 - Poor, not ready to be captain. The only reason we saw doc so much was that Shacks was nowhere and doc had to do 2 jobs. Distribution is awful.
Croft 7 - One of his best games recently. Needs to work on crossing but think having Chadders on the bench brought best out of him.
Fozzy 6/7 - Excellent in 1st half, faded in 2nd and got caught on the ball a couple of times. Looked a different player than last year, will be a good squad player.
Russell - 7/8 - Welcome back. Never stopped running, also faded in 2nd half but wasn't affraid to put foot, head, body in! I'd have him in my team over Ethtu every day of the week.
Lappin 7 - Cracking goal, don't know how he is going to fit in when Hucks is fit but I think Grant got a real bargin with this lad. Purhaps play left back?
Brown 6 - You want Brown to do well, but how long do we give him? At least he was getting in the positions to score and puts himself about. I'd like to see David S get a start sat as think Brown could be effective from the bench.
Cureton 8/9 - Like earnie, give him a chance and more times than not he will score. Two chances first half, 2 goals. Shouldve passed to Dave S in 2nd half or shot earlier but hey, I wouldve tried to get a hat trick on my first game back at carrow road!

Martin 5 - not a left winger.
Dave S 5/6 - didnt have much to work with.
Dion 5 - where has his first touch gone? unfairly blown up by the ref every high challenge.

Grant 7 - whatever he said at half time, didnt work. Still the man for the job though, 5 goals at home always good. Please sign at least one cb though, or play dion back there!

Thought Barnet were an awful team, got dirty. Hope they go down.
