HE is THAT bad, wins a lot of headers from long balls etc so in that respect ok, but

anything on the ground and you fear his every move as it's only ever a short while before he makes a mistake, hardly helps the rest of the team relax when they know he's capable of mistakes. To be fair to him Shackell isn't 100% error free, but it's gonna be hard for Shackell to improve with someone like Doc along side him. Harsh but fair sadly.
