that he had a few in mind earlier in the summer but did his usual thing of hanging around until somebody came in and pinched him from under our noses. Lets not forget his favourite phrase is "we're monitoring the situation." He did this two seasons ago, admitting in June that Connolly and Shipperly interested him but waiting until the end of July before doing anything about it. By then West Ham had come in and stolen Connolly.

He may have been waiting for funds from the possible sales of Francis and/or Green but if this is the case, shouldn't we be asking what has happened to all the money?

If he doesn't make some genuine signings in the next week or so, we will struggle to make an impact and Ashton will be asking to go on the list for the January sales.
