That five men broke into, and the government attempted to cover up. All subsequent scandals have made humourous nods back to this by adding the word gate at the end (ie 'Betsygate', when Iain Duncan Smith gave his wife a massive salary for a job she wasn't doing, 'Katrinagate', when the US government let New Orleans suffer in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and 'Nipplegate' when Janet Jackson's nipple slipped out during the Superbowl).
