Just back from game

Solid but unspectacular start. Overall we lacked creativity but defended fairly stoutly.

Ratings:

Marshall - 7 not really troubled
Ostemebor - 9 my man of the match - does not fit in at all in that he passes to players in yellow when bringing the ball out of defence and doesn't just put the ball in to touch.
Shackell - 7 steady defensively poor distribution
Docherty - 7 similar - didn't do much wrong just no creativity
Drury - 7 as above really
Lappin - 6 didn't get involved much solid but unspectacular
Brellier - 7 broke up play well but didn't create too much. An improvement on Etuhu and Safri away from home though.
Russel - 7 got stuck in and had only attempt on goal - an 18 year old header my mum would have saved
Chadwick - 6 looked lively but created little - some nice hold up play but led to little
Brown - 8 won lots up front, good on the ground but never really looked like scoring - slightly worrying problem for a striker!
Dublin 6 - put himself about a bit - and was organising the defence at set pieces - but never really threatened

Subs:
Croft - 6 yellow boots was about all he got noticed for.
Fotheringham - 6 didn't really get involved
Striker - 6 had a few snap shots but struggled to get involved.

0-0 not a bad result and start to the season. We lack a creative midfield influence at the moment (Huckerby? Smith?) and kept giving away possession from defence far too easily, which better teams than PNE will punish.
