MVV Maastricht v Norwich

A few of my thoughts for the game yesterday in case anyone is interested ? take them with a pinch of salt, I was shredded!

1) Not a great game but a great setting ? an amateur football club in the middle of nowhere ? easy access to the bar-got you close to the players friendly locals- great fun
2) Norwich first half were pretty dire and should have gone in 1-0 down. Huckerby came on and played ever so well ? he looked different class compared to everyone else ? he may be two years older but on that performance he is going to cause complete carnage again this year
3) Ward did alright ? flapped a bit at times but did not really look a patch on Greeno although having said that didn't have to do too much
4) MLJ got torn apart by an MVV player repeatedly - on that performance in that one agme he looks not as good as Eddy unfortunately
5) Can?t fault the Doc yesterday ? played well and looked solid ? might be a better bet than Fleming this year.
6) MVV are a poor Dutch team in terms of league statest (Second division) so I am told but had played 5 games already in pre season so perhaps understandably they looked a bit more with it than Norwich did at times
7) Maastricht is a beautiful city - it was fantastic sitting out on the terraces drinking Wit bier in the warm weather ? well worth the visit - and before any one asks there was no treaties in sight!
