Neither the Doc nor Davenport are consistent performers.
We really need someone who is going to be dependable in that position. It only takes one error to gift a team an effort on goal when you're a CB, and we can't afford to have players who are liabilities (or have the potential to have a howler) playing there.
I'd rather get a proven Championship level performer in, than a Premiership reserve who hasn't really done anything to fulfill his potential.
I'm all for bringing in prospects, but CB is a position where we need solid performances immediately.
