Probably because we couldn't afford to pay ?600k for either of them at the time.

That ?2.5m included a ?500k budget before any outgoing transfers/wage savings.

Also, a large amount of the money from the parachute payments went towards Deano's signature, and no doubt a large chunk of the rest of it will go towards managing our debt.
