Surely this is a wind-up?

Windows Live Hotmail is creating the first ever national archive of emails in conjunction with the British Library. The Email Britain book will record a unique snapshot of British life by email which will be permanently archived for future generations to enjoy.

We're asking you to forward your emails (anything you like - fun, serious, romantic, news etc.) to email@emailbritain.co.uk to help us compile the first public record of the British love affair with email and preserve it for all time!

The best emails received will not only be stored for generations to come at the British Library, but will also be published in a book and if your contribution is included, we'll send you a free limited edition copy!

To take part, simply go back into your Hotmail and forward an email from your inbox or sent items to email@emailbritain.co.uk
