same thing happened to me a few years back david.....

me and my wife had booked a holiday to the carribean 7 months before - then i changed job...

my tactic was to not mention my holiday plans until I got the job offer...... the company simply agreed to let me start AFTER my holiday had finished to avoid starting for 3 weeks then taking 2 weeks holiday.

I'm sure once they know they want YOU to work for them they will negotiate....but DONT mention it till you have a firm job offer!
