Having seen the first 5 and last 25mins of the half I can say the following:
Docherty needs to leave, utter s**te, looks uncomfortabe constantly. URGENT need for a new CB to partner either Dublin or Shackell
Hughes/Fotheringham - Fair to say neither of these will play once Hucks and Brellier are fit but still, Hughes only looks half decent playing RB for us, and that's it. I know they're playing against Prem quality opposition but they will struggle at this level like this. Crap.
Cureton/Strihavka - Too hard to tell what to think of them. They've had bugger all time on the ball, all the passes to them have been stupidly at chest height at pace pretty much, which makes it almost impossible for them to do anything with. Only time Strihavka had the ball on the ground he played an outside of the foot ball to Chadwick that got nowhere near him. Look pacier than you'd expect from a 6'2 guy.
Otsembor - Nice to see him bomb forward when we broke out about 30mins in, in the Championship IF he does that then he should help us a lot, especially with Chadwick or Croft running the line with him, look forward to seeing that.
Marshall - Our MOM already - Has NO defence infront of him and has made some fantastic saves. Very clear to see why Grant was so determined to get him. Quality keeper and we'll need one with the back 4 as weak as they are at present!
Major lack of attacking ideas right now, Balls forward are useless for our strikers to do anything with and we look ATROCIOUS at the back. From the 30mins in total I've seen we could have quite easily conceded 5. Ok so we'll get away with more at Championship level but even at this level we will concede a LOT with this back 4.
I'd hope this half we get Hughes off, bring on Croft, and maybe take off Doc and bring Dublin on and see if that tightens us up at all. Ashton doesnt have pace, just strength and skill, so I think Dublin would definitely handle him better than Doc/
Things can only get better second half cos that was pretty bloody awful.
