My girly friend has just moved to Walthamstow. Is it as bad as some people (who've never been there) say?

Are there any decent places to go out for a drink with out getting stabbed or buggered?

I'll probably be down that way quite alot from now on. To be honest she's a snob and so we'll probably carry on drinking in North London.
