Derek Riordan again

Here's the article.

The media are reporting this morning that Norwich could be set for another raid on Celtic, this time for unsettled striker Derek Riordan. Forward Riordan is believed to be further disillusioned with life at Celtic after only ten minutes action over our last three games. He was the only stripped outfield player not to feature in the defeat against the MLS All-Stars side. He’s already been quoted saying he’ll have to think about leaving if he doesn’t get more first time action, which is understandable for a young striker trying to make his name.

Deke was top scorer at Hibs for three years before moving to Celtic, scoring more than 20 goals a season and Norwich boss, ex-Celtic legend Peter Grant, is believed to be poised to promise playing him as an out-and-out striker.

Strachan last night was quoted as saying he understands Riordan frustration at not playing and he was the same during his own playing career.

Strachan : "I understand players like Derek might be frustrated and we will deal with that situation together.
"I know Scottish players, British people in general, are too edgy and want things to happen. Me? I needed to play football every week. I didn't want to be in the stand”
One stumbling block is likely to be the transfer fee. Strachan is believed to want in the region of £1m to be persuaded to let Riordan move on, whereas Grant is believed to only want to offer about £500k.
