What has always astounded me though

is the inability of people in football to do the obvious. After the last World Cup Woodward went on Talksport and gave a list of criticisms of Sven. Alvin Martin tore into him because his criticisms were all so obvious and simple - which they were. Obvious and simple things that a man on £4 million a year hadn't done.
It seems obvious to me that having acquired a Jason Jarrett in June, you don't spend a million on another one in July. It seems obvious to me that playing at left-back for Sheffield Wednesday doesn't qualify you to manage a budget of millions. It seems obvious to me that you don't sign players who are unfit. It seems obvious to me that you don't buy players that management have never seen.
Now that we finally have started to do the obvious I expect things to improve.
