Ok. 12-0. Fucked if I’m remembering the scorers but it was so one way it was joke. But it was fun I guess.
Dave Striker was in the crowd, sitting in the only stand, looking pretty bemused. Bless. Bryan Gunn was there. Doncaster. Jim Duffy. Kevin Platt. Rick Waghorn. Lee Croft.
Tonight’s team.
Marshall - We could have put a cone in goal and an extra striker to be honest. That’s how much he did. He did one good kick once.
Otsemobor – GREAT. I mean great. Strong, big, comfortable on the ball and what we’ve been waiting for…a DEMON at getting forward. He bombed and bombed and bombed at every chance, yet always seemed to be back and covering. Impressed.
Dublin – He didn’t actually sprint, jog or break sweat I don’t think, yet comfortable and massive presence. Got the loudest cheer of the night too.
Spillane – My MoM and I would start him with Shackell vs Preston. More than one marauding run towards their goal, taking on 3-4 players. Dublin got an offside trap wrong and Mickey was 10-12 yards behind a player flying towards our goal, yet he caught him and put an amazing challenge in and they lost their best chance. One sliding tackle challenge echoed around the ground. Immense. He ran to the goal scorer to celebrate every time too!
Lappin – He was great. Set up a few goals and was neat, tidy and very skilful. Worked hard and looked one of the players who shone.
Chadwick – Did his job without much fuss. Worked hard. And was always available on the wing. Not much to say really
Safri – Last ever Norwich goal? I think so. it was a 30yr daisy cutter - amazing goal. Was always there with a tackle, had a hand in most things but came off HT.. His class was there to see and he had a smile on his face during the warm down so maybe it was his last appearance.
Hughes- sluggish 1st 20 mins but after EVERY GOAL he was the first person to close their players down like some demented madman. Hard worker and did a good job on the ball. He liked the warm up music too as I’m sure I saw him dance and do a lil hand to one ear and decks spin with other, like some 16yr old chav trying to show off. He was down wit da kidz man. Quite.
Eagle; Ah. Now be nice…He aint gonna cut it. Didn’t look dangerous. Got in the way. Headless chicken. He is in trouble I think. Sorry Rob.
Brown Scored a good goal but missed a few headed chances too. Worked well with Martin though and was really quite good on the ball. He needs a run and I think we could get a good lil back up player.
Martin – Just typical Martin. 4 goals. Ran them ragged. Cocky. Swagger. Tried Ronaldidoeqsue tricks, nothing came off but at least he tried them. Scored some excellent goals, no tap ins - last one was blockbuster. He pushed his place for a start quite hard.
