as a lapsed fan ( until about 15 years ago I followed NCFC home and away ) this changed due to family commitments and financial constarints , I believe I can take a detached view of the situation regarding transfers .I recall the sale of Dave Watson ( two days before teh season began ) , Craig Bellamy ( just after the first match ) and these transfers follow that pattern . Get the fans onboard before any departures are arranged .
However Football clubs know that the fans are mugs - any other business that took money , but then changed the product considerably would not receive any support ( Leeds took 2,000 fans to York , they are whinging about Bates , but still go )
It needs a concerted boycott or forced re think , to get football clubs ( and players ) out of their comfort zone - NCFC know that no matter what happens , 22,000 mugs will turn up and watch whatever is offered -= you may moan now about departures , but will anybody say " I am not accepting that " and go and watch Ridgeons League football instead - of course nobody will
I will continue to take a keen interest in " my " club ( not Delia ,s , Not Neil Doncasters , Not Peter Grants - they are merely looking after it) and of course wish them every success in the world - however it is time that fans were less blinkered and saw the wider picture
