I was decorating my bathroom on the day

By myself in the house. I knew what was going to happen - but that didn't ease it in any way. I sat on the side of the bath with my chin in my hands. Didn't move for half an hour after it finished. And then I went outside, saw the shed I'd promised to dismantle..... and kicked it to bits.

That didn't help either. The nagging ache of having-been-cheated lingers and lingers, especially where there's no prospect of settling it.
