RE debate below. I feel that we should never have gone to war........

in Afghanistan or Iraq.

September 11th was a terrorist attack on American soil and was an American problem. America (as we are constantly reminded) is the most powerful nation in the world and could have quite easily gone to war in Afghanistan on its own without any other countries.

We have suffered the threat of terrorism from the IRA for many years and we had rid the country of the threat or terrorism untill Tony and Co sided up with Bush and Co. Now the terrorist threat is back and far worse than before, not the IRA this time but Islamic terrorists who cannot really be stopped. I beleive it was George Galloway who last week blamed Tony Blair for putting the citizens of this country at risk from terrorism due to his support for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and do you know what? he is bloody right. What did we gain from the war in Afghanistan and Iraq? you and me and those poor people murdered and mained last week and their families? Nothing! that is what, now you wo'nt ever be able to get on a bus or a tube in London without being on edge (whether you admit it or not you will be on your guard and looking at people of Asian appearance with suspicion). God help us if the fanatics decide to target football grounds as we are all sitting targets.
